Past National Venturing Presidents
Prior to 2003, the National Venturing President was selected by the National Venturing Committee from the incoming cabinet officers, each of whom was selected by his/her respective Regional Venturing Committee.  Since 2003, the National Venturing President has been selected from the outgoing Cabinet, after having served a one-year term as a regional president or National Boatswain.

2008-09

Amanda Vogt
Amanda is from the Greater St. Louis Area Council in St. Louis, Missouri.  She is a junior at Lindenwood University majoring in accounting.  Amanda will be continuing to serve Venturing as a member of a national task force.  Amanda is a recipient of the Venturing Silver, Ranger, and TRUST Awards.  She has completed and led several Kodiak and Kodiak X Courses.

2007-08

David George
Dave's entire scouting has been in the Sea Scout unit, Del Mar out of Orange County Council, CA.  He loves the water and all water related things.  During the summer of 2003, Dave graduated at the top of his class at Chesapeake Bay SEAL Training.  Prior to being selected as the National Boatswain in 2006, Dave earned Quartermaster.  In July 2006, Dave's Sea Sea Ship was awarded the U.S. Sea Scout National Flagship Award.  As National Boatswain, he earned the Venturing Silver Award.

2006-07

Marguerite Belli
Maggie is from Pidemont Council in Gastonia, North Carolina.  She is a senior at Western Carolina University.  As a senior in Western's parks and recreation management program, she plans to work after graduation for a nonprofit organization in youth programs.  Maggie is a recipient of the Venturing Silver and Ranger Awards.

2005-06

Amara Cramer DiFrancesco
Amy is from Sun Valley, Idaho and is a proud member of the Snake River Council.  She is a senior at RiverStone International Baccalaureate High School in Boise, Idaho.  During her tenure as National Venturing President, Amy served as lead youth for the popular Venturing Mine Exhibit at the 2005 National Jamboree and worked with Dr. Craig Murray and Cindy Jesinger to develop a useful and viable Cabinet website, www.nationalventuringyouthcabinet.org.  She taught Kodiak/Kodiak X at both Philmont Training Center and Sea Base.  During the 2006 National Meeting, she emceed the Annual Duty to God Breakfast.  Amy is the recipient of three Venturing Bronze, the Venturing Gold and Silver, Quest and Ranger Awards, as well as the Congressional Award Gold Medal.

2004-05

Christopher A. Kerzich
Chris, a Sea Scout, is from Bedford Park, Illinois.  He has worked as a White House intern through the USA Freedom Corps.  His many Scouting honors include serving as BSA event representative to Prince and Princess Akishino of Japan as well as earning the Eagle Scout Award and the Quartermaster Award, the highest rank in Sea Scouting.  He was one of five recipients of the Young American Award in 2005.

2003-04

Thomas Franklin
Thomas was from Sam Houston Area Council and served as a Assistant Scoutmaster at the 2001 National Jamboree.  In addition to being an Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor member, he earned many awards in Scouting including Eagle and the Venturing Silver Award.  Thomas graduated from Texas A&M and is now a District Executive in the Sam Houston Area Council.

2002-03

Sam Stocker
Sam was from the Detroit Area Council in Michigan.  He earned the Venturing Silver, Ranger, Quartermaster, Eagle and the William T. Hornaday Conservation Award.  He was also very active in the Order of the Arrow and received Vigil Honor, Founders' Award recipient, and was an OA Distinguished Service Award recipient.

2001-02

Marissa Morgan
Marissa was from Old Hickory Council in Winston-Salem, NC.  She earned the Gold, Silver, and Ranger Awards, and was a staff member of the 2001 National Scout Jamboree.  She represented the BSA in 2002 at the World Scout Conference in Greece.

2000-01

Katherine Knuth
Kate was from Indianhead Council in Minnesota.  She was one of the principle figures behind the Nature of Leadership Treks.

1998-00

Jon Fulkerson
Jon was the last National Exploring President elected in 1998.  He served in that capacity for a period of two weeks, until August 1, 1998 at which time he became the first National Venturing President.  His first term of office was spent promoting the infant program and working on violence prevention programs that have been adopted by the Venturing division.
