Goals and Their Steps into Reality

Regional/Area Development

I will increase the support and development of the Regional level and the Area level by helping to develop a Regional VOA/TLC in all four Regions by encouraging the Regional Presidents to help develop an Area level VOA/TLC in their Areas.

I will accomplish this through the following:

  • Helping promote the importance of Venturing to the Regional Professionals and Volunteers.
  • Lend assistance to Regions in developing Venturing bylaws for each Region.
  • Help train Area Officers with a modified version of the National Cabinet training designed to help promote the job responsibilities of an Area officer, and promote goal setting as a Regional VOA/TLC.

Communication

I will increase the level of communication across the nation through direct and indirect methods.

I will accomplish this through the following:

  • I will publish monthly electronic National Venturing Newsletters featuring awards/recognition, a youth and adult of the month, a page for each Region and for Sea Scouting, and much more.
  • I will promote the creation and use of podcasting/videos to spread the word of fun Venturing events, and to get important information out across the nation.
  • I will communicate each of the members of the National Venturing Cabinet frequently to offer help and assistance for them
  • I will assist councils as requested to help start or strengthen their Venturing Program.

Membership

I will help plan programs designed to increase Venturing membership in Councils.

I will accomplish this through the following:

  • Help to promote and lead Venturing training for professionals and volunteers in councils across the nation. Having trained adults brings more youth into the program through fun, and safe activities.

Marketing

I will help to market the Venturing Program through training and service programs.

I will accomplish this through the following:

  • I will promote the Kodiak/Kodiak X Course.
  • I will promote the Powder Horn Program.
  • I will promote Sea Badge Courses and other Sea Scouting Courses.
  • I will help establish a service month for Venturing Crews across the nation to plan a service project, and will work with councils to get a recognition program set up for crews that participate.
